Walt Disney's Club 33 is celebrating 40 years of entertaining the most exclusive Guests at the Disneyland Resort

Date: 06/20/2007

Walt Disney's Club 33 is celebrating 40 years of entertaining the most exclusive Guests at the Disneyland Resort.

The Club is so exclusive, that if asked to visit the classic restaurant today, a Guest would have to wait 18 years to become an official Club 33 member. Over-the-top Guest service, detailed surroundings and gourmet dishes make Club 33 a truly unique experience.

One of the most talked about features of Club 33 is the Trophy Room, where Guests can find Lillian Disney's butterfly collections and an Audio-Animatronics® vulture above the doorway. Sommelier (wine steward) Eric Quezada says, "Walt's idea was to have someone in the back control room listen to some of his Guests talk, then have the vulture squawk a joke based on something they said."

Server Carolyn Pelcak has spent 35 years serving Club 33 members.

"I've served Presidents Reagan, Bush and Ford," Carolyn said. "Barbara Streisand, too … she's such a nice lady! But I think the most amazing experience was meeting Supreme Court Chief Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ... in fact, we've become very good friends. The important thing here is to treat all Guests the same everyone's a VIP."

Club 33 offers weekend buffets, wine pairing dinners and introduces new items to the menu regularly. "I'm always looking at new ways to create new dishes from old classics, and what a perfect opportunity," said Head Chef Marcel St. Pierre.

Head Chef Marcel St. Pierre recommends pairing the Whole Roasted Filet of Chateaubriand with Black and White Truffle with the 2003 Sauvignon Cabernet.
